Cost of Living Crisis, Positive Money and YourDoctorDebt

PositiveMoney.org a campaign charity will explain WHY the cost of living is soaring (it’s not only Covid and Ukraine) but also decades of bad monetary policy that PositiveMoney.org campaigns to change. The main part of this meeting will be a talk by Ripon Ray (of www.yourdoctordebt.com) about what is being done, the financial supports that are available, how people can reduce the impact on their finances, and a campaign to organise to prevent disconnection of people's fuel supply. Come and tell us your views as well – we want to hear them. 

Fuel Poverty Lecture organised by Positive Money delivered by Ripon Ray

The price of fuel is going up, inflation is also going up, and already nine fuel suppliers have gone bust and £20 cut on universal credit which Rishi Sunak addressed by changing the taper rate from 63p to 55p for working claimants. In the coming months many vulnerable communities may face hardship. Positive Money Hackney and Positive Money Tower Hamlets called for a Facebook live and in-person public meeting on 10 Nov 2021 to raise awareness of fuel poverty Ripon Ray delivered a workshop on the overview of the fuel industry and your rights against suppliers when fuel suppliers go bust and the role and responsibility of OFGEM, the regulator of fuel in the UK .

Positive Money Organise Public Meeting on Universal Credit and Managed Migration

UCAN and Positive Money Tower Hamlets organised a public meeting to support Tower Hamlets residents in East London to raise awareness of Universal Credit.  There are a number of myths and pitfalls members of the public need to know about Ian Duncan Smith's flagship policy. Ripon Ray also spoke about managed migration and what the policy implication looks to local residents in practice.
